Hinkley Point C | Delivery of the first steam generator
The first of Hinkley Point C’s eight generators was delivered safely to the construction site arriving by sea, river and road.
25-metres long and weighing 520-tonnes, the steam generators will take heat from the nuclear reactors to create steam to power the world’s largest turbines.
Hinkley Point C power station will provide enough low carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and is vital in helping Britain achieve Net Zero and stronger energy security.
