Current average price to repair a leaky faucet: $345.71

Hey homeowners, do you have a leaky faucet? Well, those drips do more than disturb your slumber. According to the EPA, a faucet that drips one drop per second wastes some 3,000 gallons of water per year, which drains your pockets in the form of higher water bills — and lest we forget the growing worldwide water scarcity crisis.

If none of these obvious issues stops that incessant drip-drip-drip, you’re gonna need to call a pro! While tending to one’s own household maintenance obligations can be rewarding and is, in many cases, doable if not necessary, some tasks are just too much to ask of your everyday DIYer. That’s why we called in reinforcements for this particular project. Our HomeServe homie, David Dertz, who’s a bona fide HomeServe network plumber, showed us how he investigates a leaky faucet, what he does to address it, and what homeowners should expect in terms of time, cost and labor.
