Taxi Cab
I’m writing this in April 2023- Lately I have been posting a lot of things that were hastily finished, works that weren't up to the standards of my full vision. They are still acceptable at least, but this one I didn't rush- I had to give it my all.
This MV has been in the works since 2020, and the original unfinished version was posted in 2018. This song has great value to me, and my vision for a MV of it has barely changed since my first imagination of it 5 years ago. Its purpose was to make a cornerstone of meaning. In my mind this project would be my MMD magnum opus, not because of skill, but because finishing it would prove something to myself. And that is I can hope for a future where I can be both myself and loved without overwhelming pessimism, despite the things I've been through.
Though now it's been 5 years since I imagined this MV with this purpose...I realize it's up to me alone to make that hope happen. An animation, no matter how well crafted or meaningful, can't just make me believe it. All it can do is act as a reminder and a milestone of progress. And that is what it shall stand for from this point on.
