As humans we have a tendancy to compare. Sometimes it can be easy to magnify our own trials, and downplay what others are going through. An important lesson I learned during my time with chronic illness is that comparison never leads anywhere good.
We never really know what someone else is going through. God called us to “bear each others burdens”. If someone is going through something difficult, it matters. There is no need to judge or compare our situation to theirs.
When we come to Jesus in times of trouble, He doesn’t say “I’ve been through much more than you have, it could be worse”. He sits with us in our grief. He mourns with us and shows us how much He cares. That is what we are called to do with others.
I feel so grateful to have people in my life that rejoice with me in my victories and mourn with me in my grief. That is Christlike love. ❤️🩹
P.S. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments on my last post sharing about my experience with pregnancy loss. It means more than you know. Overall I am doing well and am holding space for both grief and joy. 🫶🏻
