Lesson 16: What’s your phone number?
Another situation we need to talk about number is phone number. To ask a person, “What is your phone number?” (你的电话号码是多少？)。The answer is just directly speak the number out one by one, with the exception of number 1, we usually say “yāo”, instead of “yī”, in order to distinguish from number 7 “qī”.
你的电话号码是多少？ Nǐ de diànhuà hàomǎ shì duōshǎo? What is your phone number?
号码 Hàomǎ number
爸爸 bàba father
妈妈 māmā mom
女儿 nǚ'ér daughter
儿子 érzi son
1 yāo number 1, when talking about telephone number,
bus number, etc., in order to make the sound clearly
different from 7 (qī).

A: 你好, 你的电话号码是多少？
B: 我的电话号码是8 705 123 4567，你呢？
A: 我的电话好吗是 8 747 662 5688。
女儿：妈妈，你的电话号码是多少？
妈妈：我的电话号码是2079902。
女儿：爸爸的呢？
妈妈：爸爸的电话号码是2079901。
