It's festival time in North Devon
The Pilton Festival Green Man Day takes place every year in July. It's a festival of singing, dancing, drinking and enjoying yourself.
Pilton street, in the older part of Barnstaple, is closed for the day and features an array of street sellers and performers. Also in the nearby park, there is a pageant which tells the story of how ancient beliefs were incorporated into christian ideology.
