DIABETES MEDICATIONS
In this video I will be describing the diabetes medications used for Type 1 Diabetes, Type 1.5 Diabetes aka LADA or Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of the Adult, Type 2 Diabetes, and Gestational Diabetes.

In the type 1 category I will be discussing the different types of insulins, Including Long acting, intermediate acting, short acting, and rapid acting insulins.
In the type 2 category I will be discussing Biguanides, Sulfonylureas, Meglitinides, Alpha-Glucosidase Inhibitors, Thiazolidinediones (TZD’s),GLP-1 Agonists, DPP-4 Inhibitors, SGLT-2 Inhibitors, Amylin analogs, which include the non-insulin injectables.
I will also be briefly including medications used in Gestational diabetes which actually be included from the other 2 categories.
This information can be used for all…nurses, nursing students – especially those preparing for the NCLEX, those of you just wanting to know and learn about these medications, and especially those taking these medications.
