The projectile in this plasma cannon is pushed out by expanding air, which is instantly heated by a plasma discharge. Since there is not much air in the barrel, the pressure on the projectile is much less than in the case of a powder shot.
But from such a gun you can shoot even at home, of course, subject to the necessary safety requirements.
