What If Earth Changes Its Orbit
OK so the first thing is, the temperature is going to change as we get closer to the sun it rises as we move away it cools. The trouble is often orbits are orbital (in other words like a hula hoop that has been pushed in on opposite sides. The new orbit would need to be orbital if you want to maintain the seasons. Cool - winter further from sun , warmer - Spring getting closer to sun, Hotter - Summer closest to the sun, no so warm Autumn moving away from the sun.
To avoid flooding the whole Planet we cant't get closer to the Sun in any king of orbit as this would cause the Ice caps to melt at the poles raising sea levels everywhere. We would come out of our Ice age... more on this later...
We can't get too far away from the Sun as this would cause the seas and planet to freeze.
The Earth is in what is called the Goldilocks zone(or position). It is not to hot and not to cold.

Life on Earth has had a long time to evolve around the slowly changing temperatures. Life has evolved to deal with an ice age. We are currently in the Quaternary ice age and it started 2.6 million years ago, it continues into the present day. The Quaternary, has had warmer periods called Inter-glacial's and colder periods called Glacial s.
You know you are in an ice age because there is ice on the Poles. There have been several times in the past when there was no ice on planet Earth anywhere!
Just so we are all clear, we are currently in an ice age called the Quaternary, it has warmer periods (the Inter-glacial's) which last around 10,000 years and colder periods (the glacials) which can last 100,000 years.
So, if the orbit of the earth changes only by a small amount temperatures can be effected.
What if Earth collided with another planet or got pulled into the Sun!
Did you know, that every time a rocket takes off it pushes the Earth ever so slightly in the opposite direction, effectively changing the orbit ever so minutely. We don't need to worry too much about this, as rockets and planes leave the surface of Earth all the time with the effect of cancelling out each others very small pushes.
It will get hotter towards the Sun.
It will get Colder away from the Sun.
The Surface of the Sun is 5,778°K
That's 9940.73°F
5504.85°C
The Temperature of Space is 2.7°K which is -454.67° F -270.43° C
If the Earth moved orbit What could it collide with?
It may be more then meteorites.
Changing the orbit away from the sun could mean Frozen Earth.
Move the orbit towards the sun could mean Scorched Earth.
No More Springs. No More Summer. Autumn or Winters.
If the orbit of the Earth Changes Tides and Sea Levels would change too..
All things could Change if the Earth's Orbit Changes.
