How We Measure & Regulate Time
The modern seven day week is based on the Greco-Roman system of so-called planetary hours. In Roman times, they had seven things that they considered planets - Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury, and also the sun and moon. Each of these heavenly bodies got a day of the week, hence why there’s seven days in a week.
