How to Compress Embedded Objects in Excel is the fifth episode of the ‘Reduce Excel File Size’ series.
Episode 1, “Why is my Excel File Big?”, explains how to find out what type of content is driving up the file size and this video show you how to reduce Large Worksheets in your file.
In this video (Episode 5), we discuss why embedded objects are useful in Excel workbooks. We explain the most common scenario is embedding PDF files as icons and how that can drive up the file size dramatically. We follow up by showing you the three steps required to compress these embedded PDFs. Extract, compress and re-insert. The file remains unaffected by the compression while the file size is greatly reduced.
