Edwards Coded Pull Station Demo
This was an old video I recorded back in 2017, after I first purchased this Edwards coded pull station which came brand new in the box. The pull station is model 1269-0 I believe, and has a two stage general alarm key switch on it as well. Systems such as these would have been used in applications such as large performing arts venues, hospitals, and other institutions or large buildings where a fire safety team would be on site to respond to the pre-signal alarm, signaled with the single stroke bells or chimes by the coded pull station corresponding to the location in the building the alarm originated. If a fire was determined and a building evacuation was imminent, the key switch would be turned to activate the fire alarm signaling horns or separate devices in the building to commence a general alarm from the fire alarm control panel signaling the evacuation of all occupants.
It is being tested with a 2901-9361 6” single stroke Simplex bell, which had the strange gong attachment from the earlier 4080 series of bells and was likely manufactured sometime in the early 1980’s.
