Bulgaria Celebrates National Day in Washington DC
The official reception took place on March 6, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, at the Members Room in the Library of Congress. The event celebrated Bulgaria's National Day, as well as the Armed Forces Day, and 20 years of membership in NATO.
The welcoming ceremony featured a violin performance by the Bulgarian-Japanese violinist, Julia Angelov. Official remarks commenced with Ambassador of Bulgaria Georgi Panayotov, followed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, along with the co-chair of the Bulgaria Caucus in the U.S. Congress, Representative Joe Wilson.
