In this video, urologist-andrologist Andrey Romanovich Zhivulko, PhD, from the Center for Infertility and Reproduction, https://vk.cc/9zlrrh, answers the question: "Hello! Most likely, two missed miscarriages were due to teratozoospermia. Why is that? Everything else was checked thoroughly. Both were completely healthy. Then why do these crooked sperm reach the egg and fertilize it? After all, the egg itself chooses the sperm. So, it chooses the wrong one?"
Indeed, if the egg could only choose the right ones, there would be no problems. The fact is, problems do happen here, too. And, again, two missed miscarriages fall under the category of problems associated with non-viable pregnancies. I've already mentioned this: there are three groups of factors that need to be looked at first. Morphology, of course, is also a predisposing factor. Because sperm have abnormal morphology, they are more likely to have an internal structural disorder, which is directly responsible for a missed miscarriage due to male factors. But, in general, there are three groups of factors that we identify in relation to male factors: karyotype abnormalities, disruption of the sperm's genetic integrity, and aneuploidies. These are the three things that need to be looked at, including in your case. These are the first priority.
