What's wrong with Karl Marx's philosophy, and why did Marxism take such deep and destructive root in Russia?
Karl Marx is considered the greatest philosopher and most influential thinker of recent centuries, whose ideas have armed half the world. But what is the fundamental, subtle flaw in his teachings? In this detailed video essay, we examine the materialist view of history, economic determinism, and how Marxism reduced humanity to a mere consequence of productive forces.
We examine the "three sources of Marxism," the metaphor of "flowers on chains," Marx's parasitic attitude toward Hegel's philosophy, the true roots of Marxism in the works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and the French Enlightenment, and why radical atheism and the rigid monolithic nature of history were vital for Marxism.
Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of Marxism-Leninism in Russia. How did the wholesale imposition of Soviet ideology distort legal consciousness? Why did the reformers of the 1990s (Gaidar, Yavlinsky, and others), without realizing it, act like pure Marxists, changing only the economic base and completely ignoring human consciousness? And why does modern post-Soviet society still continue to live by the mold of Karl Marx?
