M stands for Modificata. The Ferrari Portofino M is a true Italian spider. It shines as an evolution of the 2018 Ferrari Portofino. The update brings a more powerful engine, a new transmission, driver assistance systems, and the M designation. The Ferrari Portofino M's engine, a turbo V8, has been voted "International Engine of the Year" multiple times. It delivers 620 hp, 20 hp more than the standard Ferrari Portofino. It sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.45 seconds with southern European ease and to 200 km/h in 9.8 seconds. Visually, it presents itself as both an elegant GT and a sporty spider. Special diamond-finish wheels were designed for the Ferrari Portofino M. The 20-inch design echoes the car's flanks, creating a perfect blend of elegance and sportiness. In just 14 seconds, the undercover Spider transforms into a convertible par excellence.
At the rear, the new exhaust system with oval tailpipes gleams. The rear diffuser has been completely redesigned and is now separate from the bumpers. This allows for its construction from carbon fiber, further emphasizing the vehicle's sporty character. The trunk offers 292 liters of space, completing the DNA of a perfect Gran Turismo.
The interior is dominated by the multi-tiered dashboard. Fine leather, aluminum details, and carbon fiber are combined with subtle red accents. A 10.25-inch touchscreen is located in the center, below which are the technical components with shortcut buttons. On the center console are the buttons for the transmission, an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Passengers in the front seat have their own optional 7.0-inch display, which can also be used to adjust infotainment system settings. Speed, engine speed, and acceleration are also displayed. The passenger display is crowned with a Portofino M logo.
The seats of the Ferrari Portofino M feature an innovative magnesium structure, providing exceptional comfort. Three-stage ventilation for the seat cushion and backrest, along with a neck warmer, adjusts the intensity of the warm airflow from the headrest according to the vehicle's speed, the outside temperature, and the convertible top position.
The sports steering wheel, equipped with the "Manettino" switch, allows for the selection of five different driving modes—a first for a Ferrari GT convertible. It also includes a new Race Mode.
Adaptive cruise control with stop & go functionality for driving in traffic jams, automatic high beams that switch the high beams on and off automatically during nighttime driving, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and numerous other driver assistance systems enhance comfort. Electronic power steering, an electronic differential on the rear axle, and a magnetorheological damping system further contribute to this.
The top speed is 320 km/h with a maximum torque of 760 Nm. Despite this impressive performance, the Portofino M is remarkably lightweight at 1,545 kg.
