Gary (Yuri) Tabakh (born February 1962) is a retired United States Navy captain, known for being the first Soviet-born citizen to be commissioned as an officer in the United States Armed Forces.
Tabakh served as an adviser to the US Ambassador and Special Presidential Envoy to the former Soviet Union. He held various positions in NATO missions and is known for his expertise in military affairs, defense spending strategies, national security issues, and counterterrorism.
