Vince Lombardi took over as coach of the Green Bay Packers in 1958. At that point, the team hadn’t seen any real success since 1944. In a press conference, Lombardi was bombarded with questions about how he planned to turn the organization around. He said, “I am not going to change anything. We will use the same players, the same plays, and the same training system. But we will concentrate on becoming brilliant at the basics.” He went on to win five NFL Championships and two Super Bowls with that team over 10 years.
In our new sermon series, Walk the Walk, we’re focusing on becoming brilliant at the basics of our faith. Whether it's deepening your prayer life, living a lifestyle of worship, embracing generosity, serving others, or building lasting community, this series will guide you in aligning your faith with daily action. Following Jesus successfully begins with the basics.
