FLCL is Really Good.
A Video Essay on Growing Up, Love, and Punk Rock through FLCL.
FLCL is a show that's talked about a lot for how absolutely bonkers it is, yet all too often - at least in my experience - I've seen people talk about it as if its only trying to be random and nothing else. Even after one viewing I could pick up on so much more than its absurd action, and I think - whether people realize it or not - is actually why so many people return to it. They're picking up on a lot subconsciously, but I wanted to try and analyze what those facets might be and bring them out into the open. At least from my perspective.
SO, here's what I've gleaned from its lunacy, and there's still a ton of different ways the show could be explored. It was truly the first anime for the 21st century, and even then in some ways it still can't be topped.
