Bio: Raul Gutierrez, Founder and CEO of Tinybop, has enjoyed a long career in technology and the arts. As a high school student in rural East Texas, he was an early Apple developer (when programming for the Mac meant buying a Lisa). Raul was admitted to Princeton University as an engineer but graduated with a BA in art history after writing his thesis on Chinese Eastern Zhou bronze casting techniques.
After college, Raul worked at Paramount Pictures for acclaimed producer Scott Rudin. Later, he formed a consulting firm and built internet properties for Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, Tribeca Films, Warner Brothers, and a variety of retail and arts clients. In 2007, Raul was the Chief Architect of the art site 20x200. He founded Tinybop in 2012. Raul lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two sons. He's an avid photographer, occasional blogger, and unrepentant collector of elegant and unusual objects. Raul's hope is to build a company where ideas, design, and engineering come together to delight, inspire, and educate children. Tinybop's first app, The Human Body, was released in August 2013.
