If you were to speed up time and observe plant growth, you would witness a fascinating phenomenon known as phototropism. Phototropism is the ability of plants to grow towards a light source. This directional growth is particularly evident in young shoots and leaves.

The key player in phototropism is a plant hormone called auxin.
