The Freak Show and Vintage Postcards
Has the freak show really gone away or just morphed into another strange spectacle: social media? Popular freak show acts and related themes often appeared on early 1900's postcards, which were the social media of their age. It's rather telling that the very early movie theaters themselves were frequently little more than novelty fairground attractions next door to the fortune teller's tent.
