HanBaoBao Holdings (the Singapore Franchisee of McDonalds) owns and constructed this building in the 1980s after the older Ang Mo Kio cinema was demolished. As Otis was chosen to supply a single passenger lift for this building, Otis installed the Spec 60 model manufactured by their Japanese subsidiary Nippon Otis.

As the building was later renamed as '51 AMK', the lifts received a refurbishment with new STEP fixtures, similar to the mass modernisation project Otis undertook in the National University of Singapore.

However, the refurbishment quickly deteriorated from heavy and improper use, given the sleaze the building had back when it had gaming shops. Therefore, in tandem with a renovation project which changed the use of this building, the lift underwent a replacement by Averest Elevator, a local generic elevator company.
