EPIC FANTASY METAL MUSIC - "Myth" (Full Album)
"Myth" is an epic fantasy metal album, and the 9th full-length album by An Ancient Legend, Long Forgotten. It may be classified into various sub-genres of music, such as symphonic metal, power metal, epic metal, folk metal, fantasy music, cinematic music, epic music, and others. Fans of bands like Nightwish, Equilibrium, Epica, Delain, Xandria and others might enjoy this album. Fans of fantasy movie and video game soundtracks like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Witcher, Game of Thrones, Elder Scrolls, Kingdom Hearts, and others might also like this album.
I always strive to write music from my own pure inspiration, and as such, it is always hard for me to categorize my sound. No bands have ever really "influenced" me to a great extent, but from my own research and understanding of the rock and metal landscape, I believe those genres and bands fit the closest to what I do.
"An Ancient Legend, Long Forgotten" is the artist name of the composer Jeffrey Lewis (that's me ^_^). I do everything myself (composing, performing/recording, production, etc.) It is an independent, solo studio project mostly akin to symphonic metal and fantasy music, but my sound has also been called power metal by some of my listeners (which I'm cool with). I use the label "symphonic metal" very literally when describing my music. I simply mean I use symphonic/orchestral instrumentation and synths with metal. That's it. I realize that "symphonic metal" is a very specific and predictable sound for many fans of that genre, but if you are one of those fans, I hope you can give my music a chance.
To be frank, I'd rather avoid using genre labels entirely for my own music, but I have to call it something so people can find it. That's just how it is on the internet. Genre labels should aid in our communication with each other, not limit us. A genre is just an idea, nothing more. Just a word, boundless and amorphous. I hope you enjoy the album!
