This album is in a marginally different style of music than what I normally make. For this album, I decided to take a somewhat stripped down approach to the instrumentation, and focus on more of a traditional "rock" sound than "metal". Instead of increasing complexity and variety like my last two "Atmospheres" volumes, I went towards simplicity and cohesion.
I created "Regress" with an idea of a post-apocalyptic world as a guide. The album begins with an orchestral/electronic hybrid metal track, symbolizing an advanced civilization on the verge of collapse, and moves into a more traditional hard rock sound, symbolizing abrupt regression into a primitive world. The album ends with a track utilizing only acoustic instruments to symbolize a return to nature. I hope you enjoy my latest release.
