Hey, everyone, this is a quick tutorial on how to set up your device groups inside of UVexplorer. So open up one of your discoveries. Here we have a discovery with quite a few different devices. We want to separate these into different device groups so we can better view our network in different parts of our network where they're located at. So go down here to device groups on the left side, below categories, and right click it. First, you can add a folder. So you can add any folder name that you'd like. Let's say, Toronto. Go ahead and add that. And then you can add devices, a device group or import from PRTG into this folder as well. If you'd like to import a single group, you can put that in there. So we're going to add a device group. We can say, Toronto. Set up the group type, whether it's dynamic or static. And then the primary devices, would you like it to be... Would you prefer all devices, SNMP devices only, or network devices only? Whichever option you select, you can then click preview primary devices, and it'll give you a list of the devices in that group that will import in.
So you can enter information down here in Host, IP ranges, categories, and VLANs and all IDs if you like as well. And you can also select your devices from the Connected Devices tab, whether these are all devices, SNMP or network devices as well. And you can then preview those connected devices and view the devices by host, IP ranges, categories, VLANs, and OIDs. In here, you can also set up the map settings. If you'd like to show the map, draw the link labels. You can also include other associated links, whether they'd be virtual, wireless, ip phone, and others. Here you can select the layout that you'd prefer, and there's different options for each of these selections. Now, PRTG settings, you are allowed to import a group from PRTG. So you can click Find Group, select a group that you'd like to import, and you can add those to the group as well. I'm going to go ahead and click OK here. It pulled in the Toronto IT Department, which is 62 devices. I go here to Maps. I can then view a radio map of these devices. And it's separated from the rest of my groups.
