Glasshouse Mountains
The Glass House Mountains are a cluster of thirteen hills that rise abruptly from the coastal plain on the Sunshine Coast. The highest hill is Mount Beerwah at 556 metres above sea level, but the most identifiable of all the hills is Mount Tibrogargan which from certain angles bears a resemblance to a face staring east towards the ocean.
Noosa Nature reserve
Noosa Biosphere Reserve is an internationally protected area formally recognised as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO for its highly diverse ecosystem over a relatively small space.
Traveston
Traveston is predominantly farm land with a small urban area. Dairying is the main industry.
Wooroonooran National Park
Wooroonooran National Park is one of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area series of national parks, and is a gazetted World Heritage site. It contains some of the oldest surviving rainforests in the world.
Cooktown
Cooktown is a coastal town at the mouth of the Endeavour River. Cooktown is one of the few large towns in the Cape York Peninsula.
Cape York
Cape York Peninsula is the largest unspoiled wilderness in northern Australia. The land is mostly flat and about half of the area is used for grazing cattle. The relatively undisturbed eucalyptus-wooded savannahs, tropical rainforests and other types of habitat are now recognized and preserved for their global environmental significance.
