Hello there, it's been a while!
2021 felt like a bit of a late start for me (there's so many things going on in the world and it's chaotic!), but I always find peace in music, and hope to get back into be posting more regularly like I did last year on a bi-weekly basis! Also going to be updating my icon/banner soon, and continuing to work on my mixing skills, so keep a look out!
Translating this ED was a bit different, as I balanced meaning and rhyme. The first verse ended up being more in the style of free-verse poetry, and the second rhymes a bit more as it goes into the chorus! It was really interesting how different this hit after I saw that impactful episode...you know the one (though, to be fair, a lot of them were pretty impactful in different ways! lol)
If you follow ChouChou's music video (which I highly recommend!), some insights I picked up from the MV: It's a story about a girl escaping her boundaries from a sheltered life with people who discourage her from her individuality (they stop her from looking out the window) and try to shape her into being who they want her to be. She wonders what it’d be like to fly free like the birds and the butterflies, and eventually she climbs the tower stairs, escapes and falls at first, but rises and soars into the sky…
This quest for individuality, growth, discovering oneself, navigating the path of the unknown - sounds a lot like our best girl, does it not? ^^
