WELCOME TO THE DEPTHS OF UNDERMOUNTAIN! Waterdeep is under siege from the shadows below, and it is time for a hero to rise. Join me as we begin our journey in Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark, widely considered one of the best expansions in D&D gaming history.
In this first episode, we arrive at the Yawning Portal only to be met with immediate danger. After a mysterious dream and a sudden run-in with a Drow thief, we find ourselves stripped of our gear and forced to scavenge for survival. I will be taking you through my unique character build for this playthrough, which combines the musical talents of a BARD with the stealth of a SHADOWDANCER and the magical precision of an ARCANE ARCHER.
We explore the iconic inn, gather some starting equipment from the armory, and speak with legendary NPCs who offer chilling warnings about the mad wizard Halaster and the shifting nature of the dungeon below. It is also great to see some familiar faces from the original campaign, including Linu and Sharwyn, as we prepare to dive deep into the darkness. Whether you are here for the nostalgia or seeing this classic RPG for the first time, there is plenty of tactical combat and deep lore ahead!
