The primary function of the valve cover gasket is to seal the valve cover to the top of the engine cylinder head. This prevents oil from leaking out of the engine and keeps contaminants from entering the engine.
In this video, I mainly explain the function and symptoms of a bad valve cover gasket. A bad valve cover gasket produces different symptoms such as oil leaks, burning oil smell, low oil levels, engine misfires, a dirty valve cover, rough idle, or illuminating oil pressure warning light.
