IS THE HALF-LIFE ALLIANCE EVIL?
This video is a reflection on why the Alliance isn't actually evil. Why they perceive us differently than we imagine. Why and how the Alliance invaded our Earth, and what else Dr. Breen and the Citadel are hiding.

Also, I remind you that this video has nothing to do with real events or politics. It's nothing more than a reflection on a fictional universe; any coincidences are purely coincidental.
The essence lies in the concept of good and evil. We don't really know what the true Alliance is like. Most of the atrocities they committed on Earth were, in fact, the actions of Breen and his methods. It's undeniably impossible to justify such horrific acts as genocide or human experimentation, but this is precisely the discussion of Alliance policy and the possible reasons for such harsh measures. There are factors that suggest the Alliance is not averse to annexing humans into its empire, incorporating them, modernizing them, turning them into synthetics. We reject this approach because it's literally worse than slavery. But from their perspective, as an intergalactic empire with infinite resources, things might look different. The term "conflict" shouldn't even exist for them, because there's literally nothing to fight for; everything is already there. And it's the automated expansion, launched by someone long ago, that's doing all these terrible things. So, in essence, it's a robot colonizing worlds, as befits a Type III civilization, and the Alliance is only indirectly involved. To them, we're cockroaches living on a planet. That's what the video is about. It doesn't claim the Alliance is good. The question here is whether he is evil in an objective sense of his motives. The topic is quite complex and multifaceted, but I found it interesting to explore.
