Nankai Trough Earthquake Emergency Information: "Major Earthquake Warning." The probability of a major earthquake occurring has increased in the epicenter region from Tokai to Kyushu. The Japan Meteorological Agency announced this information on August 8th, just after 7:00 PM. Tokyo will also experience seismic intensity 6. Those living along the Pacific coast must have an evacuation plan and be prepared.
