Autism Spectrum Disorder Case Study: Emergent Communicator
This is a case study presented as part of a conference presentation regarding techniques to elicit emergent communication and gradually increase skills among highly children highly impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder via Speech-Language Pathology. This case demonstrates the importance of recognizing behavior as communication, finding student interests (deep physical input initially) as well as allowing processing time for further requests.
