"Diya" does not store your data. So what does the Ministry of Digitalization display?
Did you know that the "Diya" application collects your full name, date of birth, RNOKPP, passport data, driver's license, birth certificate, and even a photo of your face from the front camera for electronic signature? And for COVID certificates, it also includes vaccination and test details. The Ministry of Digitalization claims that the data is not stored on servers, but is only transferred "on the go" from the registers and deleted when the application is removed, but in September 2025 a file with potential passport data appeared - leaked or fake?
Why is all this needed? To create an account, provide services (from fines to payments), access to registers, and even form a Diya.Signature. The data is shared with state bodies for transactions, but without your permission - nowhere! How to protect your privacy: enable two-factor authentication, don't share QR codes unnecessarily, check camera/geolocation permissions, and uninstall apps when you're not using them. Plus, the right to access and appeal under the Data Protection Act.
