Produce Music Like Solar Fields, Ableton - Part 2
How to make music like Solar Fields, this video takes what we had in the session view, brings it over to arrangement and turns the component parts into a full track.
Lots more reverb added, moved quite a few of the parts around to create a tension and anticipation of things appearing early on then fully appearing later.
Some of the key changes from session view:
Bass Tail – from the tail of the bass guitar, to add early as a teaser of the bass.
Duplicated the rhythm to add ping pong and deeper reverb to open with. Added more rhythm elements.
Added another rhythm to use one of the kick sounds, added filter for resonance.
Added a lower G to the piano pad to open.
Background sound for whole piece (to do).
Filtered Lead was sampled from the Siney Squarey Reason patch – track 16. Lots of processing, put into simpler and the resampled from that.
Added a string track to play the chords that come later, but further apart.
Moved quite a few of the parts around different instrument tracks so they give a feel of each other.
