Oakland General Strike: Bikes Arrive @ the Port with OPD Escort
OCCUPY OAKLAND GENERAL STRIKE, NOV. 2, 2011:
The first wave of bicyclists arrived @ 5:30 pm with OPD escort.
After this, no police presence was observed throughout the port blockade, but after midnight near the Traveler's Hotel building that had been occupied earlier that evening near Oscar Grant Park, OPD shot rubber bullets and teargas at a cadre of masked black bloc-style youth who had lit large fires, broken windows and thrown chunks of concrete.
