My Grandaunt Francisca Radzeviciute was a successful opera singer that spent her life in the theatre in Kaunas, Lithuania. Although I never met her personally, my Grandmother kept their relationship alive through the miles of separation resulting from their refugee status. She regaled me with stories and photographs from their childhood and her treasured cassette recordings of her sister’s hauntingly beautiful performances.
