This channel seems to be dying, and my ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฆโข channel was stillborn, so it seems appropriate to post another cemetery video.
When the COVID-19 pandemic canceled Mardi Gras in 2021, people turned to creating "house floats" to celebrate. I hope I start a new "tradition" (And maybe a business/side hustle? ๐ค) of grave and tomb floats.
My parents, especially my mother, loved holidays, decorating for holidays, and celebrations with family and friends. I hope they are continuing that tradition beyond the veil with lots of new friends. As for family members, I hope they're now kinder to each other.
In honor of my Mother's memory and legacy, I urge everyone to be vaccinated for shingles. The rash and blisters lasted only a few weeks, but my Mom suffered the excruciating pain of ๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น๐ด๐ถ๐ฎ for the rest of her life. The expensive prescription medications she took for it barely dulled the pain. Don't expect much relief if you are prescribed ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป and ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ for ๐ฃ๐๐ก.
This video is a little longer than it should be because I spent a little more money on this display than I should have. Also, since it will inevitably be damaged by storms or desecrated by vandals, I wanted to have a recording of it in its new and pristine state, beyond the reach of vandals and storms. But buck up, vandals: you can still give it dislikes and leave trolltarded comment droppings.
I purchased two strings of cool white fairy lights that are each 66 feet long. I first tried to drape fairy light strings between the warm white pathway lights, but they were too low to the ground and that never worked. So I elevated them using garden shepherd hooks above the pathway lights along with the new strings. I tried to drape them in a festoon pattern between the shepherd hooks, but the thin copper wire literally goes haywire. Hopefully gravity and time will coax them into a draping festoon pattern. All my forebears, whose names were lost to history โ or were never recorded in the first place โ lived lives of low-paid dishwater dull drudgery. They've earned and deserve some sparkle in the afterlife.
If I leave Louisiana for the the Pacific Northwest, it will be a long time before I return. I may never return. Before I leave, I wanted my parent's shabby-looking grave by day to at least be somewhat magical at night. The grave is made of bricks and mortar covered in smooth white stucco. Only the headstone is marble. If it's not painted regularly, the paint fades and becomes stained with mildew. The stucco gradually flakes away from the underlying brick. It just looks dirty, in sharp contrast to the gleaming marble graves and tombs of some of the neighbors. Some of the oldest tombs in Saint Patrick โ 2 Cemetery are little more than piles of crumbling bricks.
It's not the most ornate, impressive, or imposing final resting place in the world. Some may say it's not dignified, either. But I hope it's one of the most unique final resting places.
๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐? After I put the light strings up, one section of one string about six inches long started vigorously swinging side-to-side. The motion should have transferred into the other strings it was near and in contact with, but they were all completely still. In fact, not a leaf was stirring, it was that calm. โ ๏ธ
