"From a Narrow Place" [MUSIC VIDEO]
When we first imagined our theme “From a Narrow Place, to an Open Space,” the world was beginning to open up, and we pictured ourselves together, celebrating the new year in person, with our beloved community. But now we are about to observe the High Holy Days once again from our homes. It can feel like we have made little progress, like we are back in that narrow place we experienced over the last year and a half. We also see narrow places all over the world that continue to spread darkness instead of light, despair instead of hope. Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills begins our High Holy Days season with this year’s theme song, which carries the prayers of hope and yearning for each one of us to experience expansiveness, possibility and freedom, and for our world to be a more open place.
