In this training video, we will continue applying tool paths to our part geometry in OneCNC Lathe Expert. Building on our previous videos, where the part was transferred to the subspindle and a roughing operation was performed, we will now focus on demonstrating how to perform a machining operation that removes material from the very face of the part.

Key Topics Covered:

Introduction to Subspindle Tool Path:
Recap of the previous videos: part transferred to the subspindle, roughing operation, and finish profile operation.
Importance of measuring the distance from the top to the bottom of the chamfer for accurate tool path extension.
Hiding the Solid Model:
Using the letter 'S' for select mode and 'B' for the blank tool to temporarily hide the solid model.
Alternative access to the blank tool via the top menu.
Measuring the Distance:
Using the retrieve distance command to measure the distance between two pick positions.
Understanding the coordinate system in OneCNC and how to switch between X, Y, and Z for CAD and CAM purposes.
Applying the Turn Face Finish Operation:
Selecting the vertical line for the facing operation and defining the tool path.
Accessing the tool library and selecting the appropriate tool.
Setting tool parameters such as turret position, feed rate, and spindle speed.
Tool Path Parameters:
Understanding the Z clearance, X clearance, and minor X clearance values for accurate tool path positioning.
Explanation of cut direction, approach distance, and groove control settings.
Tool Path Approach and Exit:
Setting cut to end and cut from start parameters to control how the tool path approaches and exits the geometry.
Using overcut and entry amount to fine-tune the tool path.
