WOOD INNOVATIONS
Sustainably sourced wood products and wood energy are the lifeblood of many local economies.

The Forest Service supports local economies while directly contributing to improving forest health and lowering wildfire risks to communities. Sustainably sourced wood products and wood energy are the lifeblood of many local economies. The Forest Service is investing over 120 proposals that expand wood utilization projects, promote using wood as a construction material, and expand wood energy markets. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE GLOBALLY
Deputy Chief Angela Coleman met with State Emergency Service of Ukraine Delegates to strengthen our partnership with Ukraine, a key agricultural and emergency response counterpart in Eastern Europe. WHAT AN EYE -
You may wonder: where do we get so many amazing photos? Some of them come from partner organizations. Some come from public information officers and photographers. Donna Price, who won first place in our employee photo contest. Butterfly Picture: We had stopped along the river for lunch, and there were so many butterflies flying around it was like eating lunch in a butterfly house. The butterflies were just lined up on a rock. (USDA Forest Service photo by Donna Price) The photo was in Cherokee National Forest – Tellico Ranger District – North River Area in Tennessee. It was submitted for the May 2023, employee photo contest: flowers and pollinators.
