Restocking the Modern Classroom with Pop Culture
The first two decades of the 21st century has seen so many changes in how we define education. One big way has been that educators have redefined what a “Text” is. This panel of educators and creators will discuss how pop culture media like film, television, comics, video games, and music are now being utilized as core classroom content alongside more traditional texts like novels, plays, and poetry. Panelists will discuss their favorite pieces of media to use a “Text” in their classrooms, providing attendees with a range of resources they can utilize.
