Hungry for Data: extracting value from communications and engagement

As the demand for community and stakeholder engagement has grown, so too has the need for analysis.

Government and private sector organisations alike must demonstrate the value of their engagement with internal and external stakeholders and communities. Data analysis sharing (of survey responses, qualitative and quantitative feedback as such) is critical for this and, like other professions, the bar for data collection and analysis has been raised significantly.

During this event, Amanda Newbery shares powerful and practical advice that covers questions such as how do we do data analysis, and what do we do with large volumes of data responses.

If you would like to learn how to extract meaningful data from community, customers and employees, to identify powerful insights, guide strategic advice, and enable better decision-making for your project, program or campaign.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Amanda Newbery from Articulous, has run the largest community engagement program in the Southern Hemisphere, for Brisbane City Council. The Plan your Brisbane project received 114,000 contributions from the community, spread across 28 activities.

She’s also built live dashboards for data analysis to provide live insights, live heat maps and analysis for highly controversial or complex programs. Amanda is an IAP2 trainer, and was the inaugural Chair of the Smart Cities Council of Australia and New Zealand’s Centre for Civic Innovation.

She is also a non-executive director of a data and information management company. You might also recognise her from ABC Radio’s Hidden Persuaders program. In between Board positions and a very busy consultancy, Amanda shares incredible insights for this exclusive IABC Queensland event!
