The Production Channel - PODCAST EP37 Video Projection Mapping the Capitol Rotunda with Clem Harrod
After being sidelined for over a year due to Covid, our first project was monumental. We had the pleasure of partnering with DCE Productions to recreate the Capitol Rotunda for the National Republican Congressional Committee, here at the Tampa Bay Convention Center.
Our goal was to simulate the experience and the feeling of being at a cocktail reception in our nations capital through the use of video projection. To accomplish this, we pixel mapped and converged (19) Panasonic PT-RZ21K projectors on multiple rectangular walls, a circular surface, and the 59ft and 80ft tall dual ceilings.
For the project, we pulled together a top-notch team which included a Projection Assist (John Brewer), an Engineer (Robert Permenter), and two stagehands (Ethan Holder and Scott Schenberg). Although this was no small feat, our experienced crew made it look easy. As David Dempsey of DCE Productions said, “ We enjoy the Challenge”.
