Supporting kratky tomato plants indoors without staking, wires or treillis
With a small and busy indoor space and different natural lighting conditions throughout the days and seasons, I wanted a system to support my hydroponic kratky tomato plants in a way that would make it easy to move the plants around (I have 3-4 tomato plants, growing from two 19L containers, which means the set-up easily weighs 20 to 40 kilograms). This is the shelving system I devised. In theory, this could work with tomatoes grown in soil in pots or tomato plants in grow bags as well. I just happen to be using the Kratky method for myself. For me, this mobile plant support shelves system is much more convenient than using wooden stakes, treillis, wires, or other types of fixed plant support systems.
