Wabi-Sabi and Motorcycles | There Is No Perfect Bike
There is no perfect motorcycle.
Every bike is a compromise — too heavy, too tall, too slow, too expensive, not comfortable enough, not powerful enough, not “adventurous” enough. Yet many riders spend years chasing the idea of the perfect machine instead of enjoying the motorcycle already sitting in their garage.
In this video, I explore the Japanese idea of Wabi-Sabi — the appreciation of imperfection, impermanence and simplicity — and how it applies to motorcycling.
Sometimes the scratches, quirks, limitations and imperfections of a bike are exactly what give it character and meaning. The “perfect” motorcycle often exists only in our imagination.
