Nordkapp Motorcycle Tour 67 - Gjesvær 2
The next day was spent on a 20-something-kilometer hike to the northernmost point of Europe. (Nordkapp is almost the northernmost!). We got back to the parking lot around 6 PM, and it felt especially good to hop back on the bike! :D
With the remaining time, I wanted to explore the island by motorcycle—visiting Skarsvåg and Gjesvær. The road toward Gjesvær crosses a long plateau and then gradually descends. That’s when it gets truly exciting, winding down through a wide gorge surrounded by streams and lakes.
The bay of Gjesvær was literally mirror-smooth, and the surrounding hills reflected unrealistically on the water in the golden light of the evening sun. I’ll never forget it! This video was recorded on the way back. The uphill ride was perhaps even more beautiful in the backlight!
