PHP Shoop 3: Test-Driven Development used to Create an Int Base Type
Continuing to explore benefits of TDD. Starting to go through the ESInt class, which is able to wrap the PHP `integer` base type. Advanced and Distance seemed like odd things to have available to the type, but Swift 5 has them and that's what we're following right now.
Shoop is an acronym for: Swift, Haskell, Object-Oriented, and Procedural, which describes the styles being used in the development of the library.
Why TDD?
Safety net for refactoring.
Safety net for re-engineering.
Executable documentation for our APIs and interactions.
Why NOT TDD?
Prove correctness or completeness.
These are unscripted, unrehearsed, mostly unedited, and with minimal prep-work. A more raw look at software development. This was started with a new user on my laptop; so, local settings and shortcuts are not present and will be introduced as we go. Basically, imagine pair or mob programming from a fresh laptop and a pretty big time delay.
