My family loves all things squash...grilled, steamed, in a casserole, you name it. That's why I grow a ton of it. This dish takes me back to my childhood and being in my grandmother's kitchen. She made the best southern squash and always paired it with fresh picked okra and a warm buttery "ho-cake" which EVERY southern lady should know how to prepare. Of course, mine doesn't compare to hers but she was a great teacher. Bon Appetit!
