This is a DIY Flood Barrier using only shipping pallets, T-Posts, 6mm plastic, and some Gorilla Tape. It costed about $5.25 per linear foot. (not including the T-Post pounder) This was only the 1st attempt at this test. For the next test, we went back and added some 2x4 supports which allowed this barrier to remain full and in place for better than 10 hours. Stay Tuned!! NOTE: One of the T-Posts snapped/broke when the flood water rose to 40". We went back and bought a slightly thicker T-Post and redid the test and did not experience bending, breaking, or any sort of failure which will post next. WHY ARE WE FILMING THESE EXPERIMENTS? Flood Defense Group is always called with pleas for help when areas within the USA are flooding. When asked if we can help, we cannot stand by and do nothing. All too often, people do not have the time or the budget to purchase flood barriers in the face of floodwaters arriving. However, if people ask us for help.......we help. This is our solution. By figuring out ways to stop flood water with locally available materials, we have the ability to help desperate home owners to help themselves. Sure, we may lose business by people building these DIY flood barriers instead by we feel that is serves the greater good. Please 'like' and 'share' because that is helpful for us in getting the message out about how people can still take action to save their homes in the face of overwhelming floodwaters with Do It Yourself Flood Barriers. www.flooddefensegroup.com 1-208-585-1815
